Open Board Position
One of the current Board Members, Mr. Ted Diaz resigned from the Board of Directors earlier this month.  The Association is looking for a volunteer to fill the position for the remainder of 2019.   If you are interested in filling this temporary position, please notify Management and plan on attending the September 17 Board Meeting to address the Board and community.  If possible, the Board will make the appointment during the meeting.
While we are on the subject, it’s not too early to start thinking about serving on the Board.  There will be two Board positions which will be filled by majority vote at the 2019 Annual Meeting – one to fill the remaining 2 years of the term mentioned above and another expiring term
Committee Volunteers Needed
Port Potomac is still looking for volunteer committee members for the Communications Committee and the Facilities and Grounds Committee.  If you’re interested, attend a committee meeting and talk to the members about joining them. Your time and efforts are priceless to the community. In order to serve, you must be a member in good standing.
Fitness Program News
Since the clubhouse water damage, our fitness center management company, NFC has been providing some fitness classes off site and some activities around the community.  Their summer camps were a great success but are over now.  The community has not shown much interest in the alternative events that have been scheduled, so the Board decided to cancel the fitness contract effective the end of September.
The activities that have had the highest turn out are the two fitness classes that are held on the Port Potomac grounds.  We are working on a plan with NFC to keep the instructors for the Yoga class, held at 7:40 PM on Tuesdays and the KB Core, held at 7:30 PM on Thursdays.  Both are held outdoor at the clubhouse.  These classes will continue until the weather makes participation difficult. The board intends to bring back a fitness management company when the clubhouse reopens.
Text Messaging Service

Fall Yard Sale
The date for the annual Fall yard sale has been set for Saturday, September 21, 2019 starting at 8 AM rain or shine.  You may bring your table to the either of the clubhouse parking lots for the sale.  The Association will be placing two advertisements and putting up the Yard Sale Banner.
Clubhouse Update
The board of directors met with Lush Interior Design yesterday evening to review the design options for the clubhouse.  This finalized items such as materials, colors, furniture, lighting, etc.  The board also made decisions on items such as doorways, lockers, audio/video equipment, etc.  More details of the choices will be published on our website in the next few days.  The next phase of the project is Construction Documentation, which leads to filing of the construction permits to the county.  Permits will be filed by the end of October.

The locker room permit revision is complete and will be submitted to the County on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

Fitness Walk
Every Thursday at 9:30 AM the Fitness Director will lead a fitness walk through the Port Potomac community and the paths that border our community.  Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Have a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend.
